Tanya Burr: Chocolate Cookies!
After watching Tanya Burr's video on how to make these cookies I can't stop making them myself! They are just so good. I don't want to take credit for the recipe but because I love them so much I had to share them with you!
200g Unsalted Butter
300g Caster Sugar
1 Large Egg
275g Self-raising Flour
75g Cocoa Powder
1 Large Bar of Milk Chocolate
1 Large Bar of White Chocolate
300g Caster Sugar
1 Large Egg
275g Self-raising Flour
75g Cocoa Powder
1 Large Bar of Milk Chocolate
1 Large Bar of White Chocolate
Instructions:
(Before starting preheat the oven to 220°C for a fan oven or to 200°C for non fan.)
1. Place the butter into a bowl and soften it in the microwave for about 30seconds, then add it to the sugar.
2. I then use an elcetric whisk (a spoon should also work) and mix until it is creamy before adding in your egg and whisking again.
3. Then add in the self-raising flour and the cocoa powder. I usually sift the cocoa powder but don't bother with the flour.
4. I now stop using the whisk and stir in the dry ingredients with a spoon and sometimes my hands if it isn't mixing properly.
5. Now snap up the chocolate leaving it in whole chunks, add as much in as you like and make sure it is mixed evenly into the mixture.
6. At this point if your mixture is a little dry feel free to add in a little bit of milk (I never need too).
7. Line two trays with baking paper or silicone baking sheets if you have them and make the mixture into 12 handfull sized balls making sure you spread them out. The balls may seem a little large but they turn out fine! (I sometimes flatten the slightly before putting them in).
8. Now place them in the oven for 10minutes. I put mine in for 5 then swap them over for another 5 so they all get baked.
9. When you take them out they might seem quite soft but just let them cool for about half an hour before eating!

Even after waiting for them to cool the chocolate in the middle is still all melted and soft! I hope you enjoy making them and if you make any alterations or add in different ingredients please let me know so I can try them myself!
